Drive (2015)
For seven years, I lived next to Bow Bus Garage, where most of East London's Transport for London buses are stored and maintained.
One morning, on my way to university, I noticed the drivers having a barbecue outside. I stopped to introduce myself and learned they were on strike, campaigning for a unified pay and conditions agreement.
As The Guardian reported:
"The union says many drivers on the same routes earn different wages, with pay rates for new starters varying by 25%-30% across operators. Unite claimed up to 20,000 bus workers joined the 24-hour strike over these pay disparities."
